On the 3-4 November in Sopot, the 67th Heads of Medicines Agencies of European Union, European Economic Area meeting took place. Mr. Grzegorz Cessak, the President of the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products was the chairman of this meeting.

The representatives of European Medicines Agency and European Commission also participated in this meeting.

This session was the second as well as the last Heads of Medicines Agencies meeting organized by the Office for Registration of Medicinal Products, Medical Devices and Biocidal Products under the Polish Presidency in the EU Council.

Two-day session was focused on issues concerning European Agencies’ cooperation in scope of market authorization of medicinal products in European procedures, implementation of the new Pharmacovigilance system and issues referring to propositions as far as the changes of European law of veterinary medicinal products are concerned.  

Taking into consideration the participants’ renown and dimension of decisions taken during HMA meeting, this was the one of the most fundamental meetings organized by the Office during Polish Presidency.

 Further meetings will be realized by Danish Medicines Agency under the Danish Presidency which will begin on January 2012.
